Elizabeth Fairley, Ph.D., BSc (Hons)

A career at the forefront of biomedical research in academia and industry has provided Elizabeth with excellent project management, leadership, analytical, problem solving and reporting skills. She has strong scientific and communication skills (particularly in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry and bioinformatics). She has excellent initiative, negotiating and documentation skills and has the ability to chair large and complex multidisciplinary meetings and lead, influence and motivate others.

An undergraduate (BSc (Hons) in Genetics from Aberdeen University) and postgraduate education (Ph.D. in Biology from Cambridge University) has provided Elizabeth with an excellent understanding of the biomedical domain and significant knowledge in nuclear membrane and mitotic proteins which has yielded several publications. Her time spent employed by Cognia EU in a commercial bioinformatics venture let her use her collaborative and communication skills to best effect as Science Support Manager (quality assurance, biological ontology and database analysis, prototype development and evaluation). Establishing her own scientific consultancy has taken significant personal initiative. Meeting client deadlines and the quality of data analysis are of key importance to the viability of the business.
